A 60 Year History of Music!
The Ford Motor Company Chorus has entertained the public with a wide variety of music for over 60 years. The chorus, comprised of Ford employees, retirees, family members and friends, presents three concerts annually. In addition, the chorus and its smaller, auditioned group (Tempos) are available to perform at other venues throughout the year.
The chorus has traveled to Germany, France, Austria and Italy to perform. We have also toured the state of Michigan in the wake of 9/11 performing patriotic music from our CD "Liberty." Community outreach includes performing at a concert at the Arcadia Theater in Windber, PA (Pittsburgh area) for the benefit of hospice.
The chorus has performed a number of times with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. In October 2004, the Ford Chorus worked with the DSO on Howard Shores' "Lord of the Rings Symphony" presented at the Fox Theater. Closely following, the chorus was selected to perform in the 2004 DSO Pop Series.
The Ford Motor Company Chorus is a member of the Dearborn Community Arts Council and the Ford Employee Recreation Association.
